Nick
Breed: Chihuahua Mix
Age: 4
Size: Small
Sex:  Male

Aren't I so photogenic? They named me Nick when they first found me at MJ! I get along with most dogs but I'm really not big into playing. I'll be around other dogs that are playing and I'll get into sniff wars with them but I really prefer to be cuddled up or held by someone. I have a bald spot on my back that they said was from some topical medication but it doesn't hurt anymore! I'm really a sweetheart and I'll love you from the minute I see you.

Comments:  12/26/16   Nick was found running down Geode street in Sonterra. He is not microchipped. He got into some paint and has an old chemical burn down his back probably from a reaction to topical flea prevention. He had a fresh cut on his front leg side and some paint on his face. His wounds have received medical attention, and he is otherwise very healthy.  He's going to need a new home.  Is it with you???

Nutmeg
Breed: Chihuahua/Terrier
Age: 1.5
Size: Small

Sex:  Female

HI! ISN'T MY NAME KIND OF FUNNY? THEY CALL ME NUTMEG! I KNOW I LOOK A LITTLE ROUGH BUT THEY SAID IT'S SOMETHING CALLED DEMODECTIC MANGE? IT'S WHEN MY HAIR FALLS OUT WHEN I GET TOO STRESSED! YIKES! IT'S NOT CONTAGIOUS THOUGH! DON'T LET IT FOOL YOU AS I'M A HYPER LITTLE PUP AND CAN'T STOP RUNNING EVER. I LOVE WRESTLING WITH OTHER PUPPIES AND PLAYING WITH SOME THAT ARE LARGER THAN ME EVEN! I'M NOT BIG INTO CUDDLING EITHER BUT I'LL COME SAY HI AND THEN RUN OFF AGAIN! COME SEE ME IN ACTION AT MJ! I'D LOVE TO GO HOME WITH YOU!

Comments: 12/2/16  Nutmeg is one of the four MJ took from the hoarding situation down in Kingsville. They are all very frightened but Grandma Val is certain they will come around to loving people and attention.  They all had hookworms but are getting treated.
UPDATE: Poor Nutmeg, when she went to get spayed we saw that she was losing her hair. We took her to get checked out at the vet and it turns out that she has Demodectic Mange which she is currently being treated for. It's not
contagious, so she is ready for her forever home. She enjoys wrestling with dogs of all sizes.

DISCLAIMER: This dog is extremely shy the first time you meet her. She warms up after a few days and is very sweet, but if you wish to meet her please know that she may be very nervous and not want to come to you right away. Patience with this dog will make her an amazing pet.

Jersey
Breed: Chihuahua/Terrier
Age: 1.5
Size: Small
Sex: Female

I'm Jersey and I was part of the hoarding situation too! I use to be all scared and it took FOREVER to get my out of my kennel to go play with everyone but now I can't wait for play time! I'm not much of a cuddler either and prefer running around and exploring. If you sit down I'm more likely to come jump in your lap to help me get a better view of things! I love playing with other dogs and even though I can sound mean when being introduced to a new dog that's just how I sound before I actually get to play with them. Come meet me and see how great I really am!

UPDATE: Jersey is ready for her forever home! She can be a bit skittish at times but she is doing very well with other dogs and people. She's simply waiting for the right family.

Peanut
Breed: Chihuahua Mix
Age: 16
Size: Small
Sex: Male

Oh hi! I'm Peanut! When I first came here my toenails were sooooo long but the nice people got them cut and now I can walk normally again! It's such a relief! Can you believe I'm sixteen? Look at that smile and tell me I'm not the most handsome sixteen year old you've ever seen! Also, I've heard the people here say I'm "a little overweight" hmph, like they know! I'm just a little fluffy! Come say hi to me, they treat me like a king here but I'd still rather spend my golden years in a home of my own!
